Collection of Sunrise Kayaking!

Cruising!

Still waters!

Gave Owen a chance the paddle, Eh, Push a real Kayak.

Had to stop to get this one!

Owen near the rocks in front of Samila Hotel.

How's that coordinated paddling!

Fishing net float, and local fisherman.

Tug towing a rock barge, hence the Backhoe onboard.

That's all for now.

Touring the Songkhla Docks during the FLOODS!

Wow, we are small out there!

This guy over loaded or what?, sure looks top heavy. How ever the barrels are empty. The vessel holds are filled with ice, and then pack the fish into the barrels with ice. Thus replacing the ice removed from the holds with full barrels of FISH.

Dry dock!

Our local "cruiser" in the back ground.

Owen's on deck, look closely!

More top heavy vessels.

Prime Real Estate on the water.

Don't reverse out now fellow's.

Checking out the art work.

They are sure big out of the water. There where 6 vessels all the belonging to one owner in dry dock. Might as well during the monsoons.

In amongst some of the thousand odd vessels that use Songkhla fish docks.

Owen in action, just look at that water ripple!!
The next lot of Kayak BLOGS will be in reverse order as I start to review and edit old photo's. Nothing to boring we hope.
Until then "KEEP PADDLING"

Kayaking In Songkhla

Tour of Kho Kut Bird Park after the FLOODS!

Now you have the lay of the land you know exactly where we were!!

Getting ready for a paddle. Notice the "His & Her's" BUM rings, yeah! it get's hard on the posterior after an hour or so. Oh! don't forget the beer cooler.

Some of the locals checking us out

More Kid's

Owen checking the water depth to check on our next paddle in Feb. or March, when the migratory birds are breeding in the Park.
Out in the jungle!
Check out the bow wake! But corrdinated paddling it ain't, but Sue's having fun!
These folks came out of the jungle and surprised to see us, collecting some fresh water as the water well in their village is contaminated. (Septic tank over flows etc.)

The kids on the boat.

Good pose!
Still waters!

Reflections! The water level is usually not this high.

We asked the lady on the step how high the water got. 30cm or for those still in inches, that's 12" below the floor beam she's sitting on. So no water in the house, thats why it's built on stilts.
The barn, if you look closely a chook is still rosting in the rafters.
This is where we usually park and launch the Kayak's.

The local Monks relaxing.

Sue just had to have a couple of PIG'S, it was even too wet for them, these two tethered to the trees on the road side.
